Daily Life in the Hub

Daily Life in the Hub

The best way to describe daily life in the Hub is that it is controlled chaos.  The hub is always alive with business and work.  The city itself is extremely cosmopolitan.  The resident’s needs are met through the trade that runs through the city, as well as a large municipal water supply through a magically pressurized well system that feeds directly into the homes of the more elite aristocrats.  Other citizens of the city get their water from public fountains spread throughout the city.  Waste is carried off by a sophisticated sewer system which is later processed and transported to the outlying farms to be used as fertilizer.  In the outlying farming areas and wilderness peoples lives are still touched by the affluence of the city.  Many communities benefit from magic items and services that are provided in the city.

There is a sense in the Hub that social mobility is possible.  This is primarily an illusion.  The Green Guild Council and the aristocrats of the city do everything in their power to keep the citizens in their place.  However, in a city as chaotic as The Hub keeping an eye on everything is impossible and social change does happen.

The Hub is made up of a variety of peoples.  While not as varied as Sigil itself it is the most diverse place in Adell.
