Eating Customs in Adell
Dining together is taken very seriously in Adell. Breakfast and Midmeal are informal affairs dinner is important to Adellans. Dinner in a home is always eaten at a five sided table with one family member at each side. The Patriarch of the family always sits closest to the door with other members of the family continuing counter clockwise in order of age. This rule is used for eating with one’s family. In larger dinners rectangular tables are arranged so that they form a five sided pattern with spaces in the middle for servants. A similar arrangement is made with royalty; however, in this case a round table is placed in the middle of the pattern. This is where the members and honored guests of the royal family dine.
